Professor Eng Ooi

Head of ENT Surgery, Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide, Australia

Eng Ooi is currently Professor in the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University and Head of ENT Surgery at Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) and Noarlunga, Southern Adelaide Local Health Network. He is a surgeon scientist with a strong interest in basic science, clinical research trials and performing complex head and neck, skull base and upper airway surgery. Eng is the Director for the Flinders Rhinology Fellowship. He supervises PhD, Master’s students and has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles. He has received 28 research grants including NHMRC and GPRWMF totaling over $3 million as well as serving as the Section editor in chief and editorial board members for several journals. He chairs the weekly Flinders Head and Neck Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Meetings, is a member of the altered airway team at Flinders and is Head of the FMC ENT Surgery Department leading a team of 10 surgeons, an advanced rhinology fellow, registrars, research registrars, residents, intern, medical scientist, and ENT Nurse Practitioners.
 
Professor Ooi is a former President of the ANZHNCS and serves on Federal Council for ASOHN and the Fellowship Services and Professional Standards committee for RACS as well as executive boards of various professional societies.​
