Dr Eugenia M. Vining

Dr. Vining is Associate Chief of Otorhinolaryngology at Yale New Haven Hospital and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine.  She is a partner in Ear, Nose, and Throat Medical and Surgical Group, caring for patients in greater Connecticut and the surrounding areas. 

After graduating from The College of the Holy Cross with a BA in Classics, Dr. Vining received her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine.  She continued her training at Yale New Haven Hospital, completing her residency in Otorhinolaryngology.  From there she was given the opportunity to join the emerging field of Rhinology, completing a fellowship in Sinus and Skull Base Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine with Dr. David W. Kennedy and Dr. Donald C. Lanza.  Since 1993 she has been a member of Ear, Nose, and Throat Medical and Surgical Group and has served on the clinical faculty of Yale School of Medicine.  Her focus has remained providing medical and surgical care for patients suffering from sinonasal disorders and educating residents and practicing otolaryngologists.  In that capacity she has been awarded the Yale Otolaryngology resident teaching award twice and has served on the faculty of over 100 national and international sinus courses.  ​

​She is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. She is Past-President of the Medical Board of Yale New Haven Hospital (2018-2020) The Connecticut State Ear, Nose, and Throat Society (2006,) and currently is serving her second term on the Board of Trustees of Yale New Haven Hospital (2020-present.) At Yale New Haven Hospital she is currently serving on the Credentials Committee, Patient Safety and Clinical Quality Committee, and Late Career Practitioner Committee. She is an active member of the American Rhinologic Society (Historian 2003-2021,) the North American Skull Base Society, and the American College of Surgeons.
 
Dr. Vining has been elected by her peers with consecutive inclusion in Best Doctors in America® from 1996-2025.
