Dr Paul Paddle

ENT Surgeon & Director of Research, Akuru
Paul Paddle is an ENT surgeon with fellowship training in Laryngology – Voice, airway and Swallowing disorders. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and surgery with honours at Melbourne University in 2003, receiving the award for top surgical candidate in his class.

In 2013 he gained fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons by completing his advanced training in Otolaryngology, head and neck surgery. He completed a 1 year fellowship in Laryngology at Harvard University in Boston. He gained expertise in all aspects of laryngology including the care of voice, airway and swallowing disorders, operative and office-based treatments, and the use of established and innovative diagnostic and surgical techniques.

He has completed a Masters of Public Health at Melbourne University in 2010, and a post-graduate diploma of Anatomy in 2006. He is currently a principle investigator in a number of clinical trials in the fields of ENT, and holds a number of research grants currently. He has authored a number of scientific papers, and authored a number of book chapters.

Paul is also a founder and CMO of a health-tech startup company: Nebula Health, which uses technology to better engage and educate patients, and improve the care experience and decrease complications. This team won a place in the prestigious Melbourne Accelerator Programme for 2016.
More recently he is a seed investor and director of research at Akuru, which has developed the AI generative medical scribe software, I-Scribe, where he continues to strive to improve the quality of the product, and improve the efficiency of clinicians everywhere and the engagement of their patients.
